| The community of Lancaster is located approximately 10 miles east of Buffalo and is only a 10-minute drive from the Buffalo International Airport and the New York State Thruway. Lancaster has a wonderful balance of history and new development. Many museums, such as the Lancaster Historical Society Museum and the Little Red Schoolhouse hold memorable artifacts and historical mementos. The Lancaster Opera House has been entertaining residents since 1897 when the music hall was combined with the town’s main government building. The Lancaster Central School District is composed of five elementary, one middle and one high school. Private schools, Our Lady of Pompeii Elementary School and St. Mary's Elementary School are also located in the Village.
